New Zealand Division II Champs 2014

On Wednesday the 12th of March until Saturday the 15th of March, 7 members of the North Canterbury Swim Club competed in the State NZ Division II competition.

This was held at Hamilton's Waterworld in Te Rapa, This is a long course 50m event. There were 330 swimmers representing over 80 clubs from all over New Zealand.

Michaela Norman from Wai Swim said: "They had a fantastic time away, for five of the swimmers it was their first time competing at a national meet. There was a lot of personal best times achieved and many of these were in the finals held in the evening. The North Canterbury Swim Club was placed 4th on overall club points from more than 80 clubs present, an outstanding result. "

Following are the great results:

Timothy Batchelor, gold: 100m fly and 200m individual medley, silver: 50m and 200m fly

James Buk, silver: 50m fly and 200m freestyle, bronze: 100m freestyle

Harry Hall, gold: 50m fly, silver: 100m fly, bronze: 200m individual medley

Saxon Morgan, gold: 1500m freestyle

Keely Morton, gold: 100m backstroke, silver: 200m backstroke

Regan Mundy, silver: 100m freestyle

In total 14 medals: 5 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze.

In the Male 15 years and over Canterbury freestyle relay Harry Hall won a silver medal

In the Male 13-14 years Canterbury freestyle relay James Buk and Regan Mundy won a bronze medal

In the Male 13-14 years Club medley relay Saxon Morgan, James Buk, Regan Mundy and Timothy Batchelor won a silver medal.
