NEW ZEALAND OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014

New Zealand’s premier swim competition – The State Insurance New Zealand Open Championships – were held between the 8th and 11th of April 2014 at the West Wave Aquatic centre in Auckland.

The North Canterbury Swim Club was represented with the following four swimmers: Natasha Lloyd, Gendi Roberts, George Eglesfield and Reagan Pitt along with the Wai Swim head coach Brigitte Mahan. This competition includes all the top swimmers from around the country. Brigitte commented "They all swum very well with some very pleasing personal best times. With it being televised it was a good opportunity for the rest of the team at home to watch and learn from the racing".

Natasha Lloyd, gold: 50m and 100m breaststroke, medley regional relay representing Canterbury West Coast,

George Eglesfield, gold: 100m fly, silver: medley regional relay representing Canterbury West Coast, bronze: 200m fly and 6th in the 50m fly

Gendi Roberts, gold: in the freestyle and medley regional relay's representing Canterbury West Coast, 5th in the 1500m freestyle.

Reagan Pitt, silver: medley regional relay representing Canterbury West Coast, 8th in the 200m breaststroke

Both Natasha Lloyd and George Eglesfield qualified for the Oceania Champs.
